The customer
The Hirslanden Private Hospital Group comprises 19 hospitals in 10 cantons, most of them with an emergency department. It also operates 5 outpatient surgery clinics, 18 radiology institutes and 6 radiotherapy institutes and a total of over 100 medical centers of expertise and more than 50 specialized institutes. In each and every hospital of the largest private clinic group in Switzerland, patients will find the ideal conditions for quick and comprehensive treatment.

The project
Since 2005, synedra AIM has been introduced step by step in each of the hospitals of the Hirslanden Group. The Health Content Management Platform (HCM) synedra AIM assumes the role of the central PACS solution, which is why the major radiological workflows are implemented in synedra AIM: The data of all DICOM modalities are stored in the synedra AIM archive. There, they are immediately available for diagnostic imaging in synedra View and/or at the special workstations. In 2019, synedra AIM also assumed the role of a repository for structured data generated in the laboratories of the hospitals. Via HL7v2, the connected laboratory system transfers the structured data to synedra AIM, where the data are converted into the FHIR format and are then archived. These data as well can be viewed with synedra View.
For the communication with the referring physicians, the Hirslanden Hospital Group relies on the image and report distribution solution synedra Web, allowing selected referring physicians to view and interpret the transferred data using synedra View Professional. As an economic alternative to patient CDs, the Hirslanden Hospital Group moreover relies on synedra Web Patient to provide its patients with their medical images and documents. Furthermore, a number of Hirslanden hospitals use synedra Video to realize video documentation in the OR. From a technical point of view, the Hirslanden Group has opted for a central archive solution. The Zurich-based central archive ensures the secure long-term archiving for all sites and handles all archive functions as well.
