The customer

The two hospitals St. Anna Krankenhaus Sulzbach-Rosenberg and St. Johannes Klinik Auerbach are part of the "Krankenhäuser des Landkreises Amberg-Sulzbach" municipal company, which provides extensive and premium services in the areas of internal medicine, surgery and gynecology and obstetrics. The two first-level hospitals meet their self-imposed high quality requirements by providing state-of-the-art medical technology and employing highly professional staff.

Das Projekt

The St. Anna Krankenhaus Sulzbach-Rosenberg longed for a clinical DICOM and multiformat viewer on all workstations, which was the initial requirements that marked the starting point of this project. In a first step, all medical DICOM and non-DICOM devices outside of the radiology department were connected to the archive by introducing the Health Content Management Platform synedra AIM as a universal archive. synedra's powerful multiformat viewer synedra View now enables its users to open DICOM and multimedia data on every workstation in the hospital directly from the HIS by means of a client call. In a further step, more than 2,000,000 documents were migrated from the former DMS to synedra AIM and PACS data from all in all three tenants were consolidated. Moreover, the introduction of synedra AIM led to an increase in performance when viewing DICOM data, since current examination data are temporarily saved in synedra AIM.
